Courage Tea

Every time I hear the word courage, I think of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz. He just wanted courage to stand up for himself, to be the king of the jungle. Courage is such a big word with so many implications. Does having courage mean that you are the biggest, baddest thing on the block? Does having courage mean that you’re mean and nasty? I don’t think it has to mean any of that. In my opinion, courage is the ability to stand firm in what you believe in no matter what others think; the fortitude to push forward in your truth and in your space.

Having courage can be simple as wearing strips and polka dots at the same dang time (this may be ok in your world; in my world it is not, but I know that I’m fashion challenged! LOL). Or courage maybe standing up to that person who may have said an inappropriate joke that offended you. Courage may be moving to another state or stepping out on faith and starting your own business. In my case courage was being obedient to the Holy Spirit and starting a blog revealing the deeply personal aspects of my life and marriage.

While I don’t have a problem sharing my life story with those whom I’m close with, sharing with total strangers on the world wide web is so far out of my character. I am a person who is still being delivered from not caring about what people think about me. I was that person who thought MY life was supposed to be a certain way. Allowing the world into such a personal space took a lot of courage and prayer. I had to have courage and strength knowing that it’s for a reason bigger than me. Sharing my story, thoughts, and feelings about myself and how I’m navigating through my wilderness has been therapy for me and hopefully has helped others.

I hope you understand that other people are depending on your courage. You standing up for yourself, making that move, sharing your truths, or spilling your tea will help someone else who is watching you. Take a moment sis and realize that you have the strength to conquer anything that comes your way. Make a plan, take a deep breath, PRAY, and go for it! Trust and believe that God will never lead you to a place that he won’t bring you through. You just have to have the faith and courage to see it through!

Amen! Just the Tea i needed to start my day. More and more each day I feel anxiety about decisions i am making in my life and they all seem to be as tall as the Eiffel Tower LOL. But each day i also gain strength and courage from God and people like you T who keeps reminding me "i can do this". What helps me the most is knowing that i'm not doing this for me - i'm doing this for the next person who will need the same courage. :)
